Established in 1979, EIA Global is comprised of a staff with extensive knowledge and expertise in the Credit and Political Risk Insurance industry. Our unrivaled team of accomplished and skilled individuals have experience as brokers, bankers, underwriters and corporate attorneys. Our producers are complemented by a top notch administrative staff. EIA Global’s proven expertise has allowed us to develop, earn and sustain the credibility and respect of our clients and the insurance companies

The Team

Albert Giandomenico

Founder and President
Al is the Founder and President of EIA Global. He began his career in banking at Chemical Bank in New York City and later worked at the Foreign Credit Insurance Association (FCIA). Al left FCIA in 1979 and returned to the Boston area to launch EIA Global. EIA Global has grown into one of the most successful and respected trade credit and political risk insurance brokerage firms in the United States. Al has served two terms on the advisory boards of the Export-Import Bank of the United States (EXIM) and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC).

Al graduated from The Choate School and is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard University.

David Giandomenico

Senior Vice President and Controller
David joined EIA Global in 1982. As a principal and vice president of the firm, he oversees EIA’s operations and financial activities while also managing the policy administration teams. He works closely with EIA’s panel of underwriters on various technical issues related to policy placement and compliance. Prior to joining EIA, David worked for Hartford National Bank as a credit analyst.

David graduated from Milton Academy and Harvard University, and also attended the University of Vienna in Austria.

Donna Murphy

Senior Vice President and Director of Sales and Marketing
Donna joined EIA Global in 1987. She is a principal and vice president of the firm, directing worldwide sales and marketing efforts. Her responsibilities also include maintaining key account relationships, leading new business development initiatives and overseeing internal policy administration. She is an active member of the International Credit and Trade Finance Association (ICTF) and the National Association of Credit Managers (NACM New England). Prior to joining EIA, Donna was an underwriter with Chubb Group of Insurance Companies.

Donna graduated from Noble and Greenough School and Skidmore College, and later attended the University of Vienna in Austria.

Edward Giandomenico

Legal Counsel and CFO
Ed joined EIA Global in 1993 as legal counsel and was promoted to CFO in 2001. He is responsible for financial management and agency administration, in addition to legal and licensing duties. A partner in the law firm of Giandomenico and Giandomenico, Ed also has acted as an advisor to EIA since 1982.

Ed graduated from Yale University and Boston University School of Law.

Brad Wilson

General Counsel and Alternative Risk Solutions
Brad has been an advisor to EIA Global since its inception in 1979, and officially joined EIA as general counsel in 2001. He provides EIA with company-wide legal, accounting and business support. Brad is also involved in managing relationships with EIA’s worldwide “Global” partners. He began his professional career as a CPA at Deloite-Touche, followed by ten years in private law practice. Immediately prior to joining EIA, he was a director of mergers and acquisitions at Textron, Inc. in Providence, Rhode Island.

Brad graduated from Harvard College as well as Suffolk and Boston University Law Schools.

Steve Borgeson

Legal Counsel
Steve joined EIA in 2015 after advising as outside counsel for two years. One of three attorneys at the firm, he focuses primarily on regulatory issues, policy wording, claims and contracts administration and general corporate matters. Prior to joining EIA, Steve practiced corporate finance and securities law for many years, serving as the General Counsel of ChemDesign Corporation, a publicly traded company acquired by Bayer AG, and as a corporate associate at the law firms of Jones Day and Goodwin Procter LLP and counsel at Robinson & Cole LLP.

Steve is a graduate of Groton School and received his A.B from Harvard University and his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law.

John Sapoch

Senior Advisor
John joined EIA Global in April 2019 as a Senior Advisor, bringing over 30 years of experience in international banking and structured finance with Wells Fargo Bank and several of its legacy institutions. His most recent position was as an Executive Vice President and Head of Portfolio Management for the bank’s Global Financial Institutions Group and he had previously served as Head of Structured Trade Finance for the bank.

John is a former Chair of the BAFT Trade Finance Committee and has served on PEFCO’s Bank Advisory Board.  He holds a B.S. degree from Dickinson College.

John Harvey

Senior Advisor
John joined EIA Global in 1998. His current responsibilities include managing key relationships within EIA Global’s structured trade credit and political risk insurance portfolio, with a focus on financial institutions seeking coverage on foreign bank and corporate payment obligations. John is also tasked with product and business development across the United States. John joined EIA Global with over nineteen years of experience in international banking, having worked in the structured trade finance divisions of State Street Bank, NationsBank, First Union National Bank and Shawmut Bank.

John is a graduate of Tufts University and holds a Master of Science in Foreign Service degree from Georgetown University.

Laura Parker

Structured Trade Credit & Political Risk Insurance
Laura joined EIA Global in 2003. She manages several of EIA’s long-standing client relationships with a focus on placing coverage for medium-term corporate accounts receivable and bank-to-bank transactions. Prior to joining EIA, she worked at both Fidelity Investments and CitiStreet as the relationship manager for the retirement plans of several Fortune 500 companies.

Laura graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Management Information Systems from Springfield College.

Clay Sasse

Senior Managing Director
Clay joined EIA Global in February of 2022. He has extensive experience managing all facets of the credit insurance/political risk business, including broking, underwriting, and claims management. From 2010 to 2020, Clay was the US Practice Leader for Aon Credit Solutions. He structured, developed credit insurance programs for large corporates as well as financial institutions, ranging from single obligor coverage to multi-buyer programs enabling trade in the tens of billions of dollars. He gained expertise in addressing credit needs in the IT, commodities, and retail sectors both from a risk mitigation and financing perspective. Clay also oversaw the construction and implementation of insurance to facilitate enhanced borrowing terms for corporates and lending terms for financial institutions, overseeing programs that unlocked liquidity for clients through, amongst other methods, securitizations, factoring, and asset-backed lending. Bookending his Aon broking experience, Clay worked at AIG serving as Claims Director for credit claims, Senior Underwriter for Trade Credit, and, most recently as AIG Trade Credit’s Global Head of Multinational Clients.

Mr. Sasse holds an MBA in International Management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, and a B.A. in Political Science from Ohio Wesleyan University in Delaware, Ohio.

Richard Casner

Senior Advisor
Richard has over 35 years of experience in finance, primarily in real estate. He has worked with national and international developers and owners in the acquisition, development, lease and disposition of over $6.0 billion in assets in the Boston, Chicago, New York, Connecticut and New Jersey markets. He was a Vice President of Goldman Sachs and oversaw the financial performance of a portfolio of real estate assets in Goldman's eastern and mid-western regions and most recently was Senior Vice President Asset Management for a subsidiary of a large U.S. pension fund.

Richard holds a B.A. in Political Science and Government from the University of Vermont and is based in Darien, Connecticut.

Kathleen Lutz

Structured Trade Credit & Political Risk Insurance
Kathy joined EIA Global in 1992. One of EIA’s longest-tenured employees, she has worked in various roles at the firm but for several years has been a lead policy administrator within EIA’s structured trade credit insurance practice. Kathy works exclusively with EIA’s bank clients, focusing on financial institutions engaged in international correspondent banking activities. She is involved in both the initial placement of risks and subsequent policy compliance and reporting matters.

Paul Boynton

Political Risk Insurance & Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance
Paul has been associated with EIA Global since 1997 as Regional Manager for the Southwest USA. Since 2022, he has worked as Senior Advisor for Political Risk and Trade Credit Insurance as well as managing some key accounts. Paul offices in Dallas and Orange County California.

Prior to joining EIA, Paul worked for FCIA, Willis Faber North America and Johnson and Higgins in New York City. Born and raised in Oklahoma, Paul attended the University of Oklahoma, New York University and Southeastern Oklahoma State University.

David Zawaski

Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance
Dave joined EIA Global in 1999. His primary responsibility is managing EIA’s Short-Term Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance portfolio. Dave came to EIA with over 18 years in the Trade Credit Insurance Industry. Previously he was a Risk Manager in the Trade Credit Insurance Division of the Export Import Bank of the United States (EXIM Bank), while also working as a Claims Analyst and Underwriter for the Foreign Credit Insurance Association (FCIA).

Dave is a graduate of the University of Dayton.

Wendy Farrell

Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance
Wendy joined EIA Global in 2002. Her primary responsibilities include policy administration and relationship management for clients within EIA’s multi-buyer and structured trade credit insurance portfolios. Wendy also serves as a lead relationship manager for EIA’s portfolio of factoring accounts. Wendy came to EIA with twenty-five years of administration management experience in large corporations such as Marcam, SAP America and Baan.

Alexandra Giandomenico

Multi-Buyer Trade Credit Insurance & Business Operations
Ali joined EIA Global in 2012. Her responsibilities include short-term multi-buyer and structured trade credit insurance policy administration, claims processing, policy record management and internal accounting. Ali also manages marketing projects and assists with inside sales activity.

Ali is a graduate of McGill University in Montreal and holds an International Credit Executive designation from the Finance, Credit and International Business Association (FCIB).

Dylan Cofsky

Sales and Marketing & Multi Buyer Trade Credit Insurance
Dylan is the newest member of the EIA Global team, joining us in September 2023. He arrives with experience in leadership, communication and marketing; and has already shown great enthusiasm in learning the trade credit insurance business and growing with the company. His responsibilities include marketing projects, assisting with inside and outside sales activity, and policy administration.

Dylan is a recent graduate of University of Massachusetts-Boston, graduating summa cum laude in 2022. He was a Dean’s List Honoree for eight straight terms. He was also a John F. Kennedy Award nominee and a founding member of the Sport Leadership and Administration Student Association.

EIA Global works closely with our colleagues from around the globe to give our clients access to international insurance markets, including public sector export credit agencies and the Lloyd’s of London market. Access to these markets allows EIA Global to place difficult or unique risks that may not be insurable with carriers based in the United States. It also enables us to issue local policies to our clients’ foreign subsidiaries.
